"Highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys club game"
February 14, 2011
It turned out to be not quite what I was expecting. I've seen Ozzie's RSD talks (and the ones he did especially for The LSS a few years ago) where he discusses what he calls Physical Game (or PG), notable for “Run the Train!” I was therefore expecting lots of detailed information about getting physical with a woman – where to put one's hands and when, for example. Maybe a sharpening of the rather blunt weapon that “Run the Train!” represents.
Instead, very few pages of the book discuss specific physical moves. Mostly what's covered relates to the rationale behind PG, inner game relating to PG and advice on effective mindsets and approaches. The overall impression I got of this book was that title aside, it was largely an Inner Game resource.
The specific moves covered are, predictably enough, hugs, spins, high fives and goes without saying – The Claw! (For anyone who has been living in a box for the last few years, that's putting your arm over a woman's shoulders, latching your hand onto her far shoulder like it is a claw and not letting go.)
I had kind of dismissed the book as being “nothing new” and a little bit of a mish-mash of various ideas and pieces of information until last night when I went out and actually put some of the ideas to test. I decided, as per Ozzie's advice not to overload your brain, to just concentrate on three things – Having fun; talking to girls and being physical. I also had a loose plan for the evening, again, as per the book, to not be out on the pull but to be out looking to be sociable and friendly with everyone.
And what would you know? I had an absolutely blinding evening! I pushed my PG further than I ever have done before, being immediately physical right from the introduction. I was turning girls, spanking their behinds (at a fetish club, btw – your mileage may very elsewhere) and pulling them in close to me either with The Claw, or a hand around the waist.
By the end of the night my grubby mitts had been all over several different women and I'd had a nice cuddle with a cute lady in a hot red pvc dress whilst watching a performance. I saw for myself the dramatic effect that getting physical has on a woman. I'm with Ozzie in rating kino skills (a previous weak spot of mine) far more valuable than almost any amount of talking.
What I realise is that a lot of the power of this book is in the simplicity of its message. You just need to get the job done. Ozzie points this out well and his experience coaching and pulling is evident from the text.
There is also a lot to seduction that is easy to say, but difficult to do. Ozzie is teaching how to use simple tools but use them well. You don't need anything fancier than The Claw. I think a lot of his book is about addressing making it easier to use the simple tools. I think I needed some of the reasoning to encourage me – like reassurance about taking baby steps; being allowed let things get messy; expecting rejection and dealing with it.
There is a useful chapter on dance floor game, though again it's not detailed, it should be enough, and a chapter on extraction, too, which is pretty handy.
In conclusion, I would highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys club game (this book's domain) but feels that the physical component of their game isn't up to scratch. Or maybe if you are just not enjoying clubbing or getting the results you want from it. It's slightly pricey for a paperback, especially when you add shipping, but not an unreasonable amount. I got a lot out of the book once I put the ideas into practice.
