THE FOUNDATION
Okay, maybe "best" isn't quite the right word. To me it's the bedrock on which "technique-heavy" stuff must sit.
What he teaches is congruent with Mystery, Savoy, etc., but addresses core fundamentals that, to me, MUST be learned before the Mystery Method or Magic Bullets will work to begin with.
Now, this may NOT be true of ALL people.
If you're already a confident, SOCIABLE person, who has success in other areas of your life but is only experiencing problems when faced with a woman, or who has certain success dating already but want to IMPROVE your game, The Mystery Method or Magic Bullets, may in fact be all you need.
But if you're someone like me, who's good having conversations with women but has other issues (overly sensitive; SO nice to women they disregard you for reasons you find baffling, but don't want to become a jerk), DeAngelo is where you should start. It will also help areas of your life NOT related to women.
It's that deep.
More about how to got to David D.:
SOBRIETY AND RELATIONSHIPS
After a breakup from a 4-year relationship, and being sober for 9 years, I found I'd lost the "bad boy" energy that used to bring me success with women. My program of sobriety stresses service and lack of resentment, which have served me very well in having a wonderful, productive life, but REALLY hurt my ability to interact with women.
I desperately needed a way to redraw my boundaries with people (women especially, obviously) in a way that was true to myself, true to my ideals, and yet didn't leave me hopelessly wussed-out.
I started with books by Logan Edwards (The A Game), which sounded GREAT on paper, but somehow didn't get me "feeling" the concepts, just thinking, "oh yeah, this is how I SHOULD feel."
Moved on to The Mystery Method, but I don't like memorizing routines, although it did give me more important information on evolutionary psychology, how value differential worked, etc. etc. Very good stuff. (Magic Bullets, which I've just started, is also quite, quite good.)
Got the Mystery "Revelation" DVD / CD set, which gave me a bunch more attitude tips and helped reinforce many of the concept in The Mystery Method.
Yet, I STILL found myself placating, being overly nice, speaking too fast "in field," and BOMBING with women.
MASTERY REVIEW
This DVD course, far from being "outdated" as others suggest, strikes me as absolutely timeless. Already I'm feeling the core concepts in a way I didn't before. And as other positive reviewers have stated, it's BEYOND the issue of women. It's clued me into voice training by recommending "The Sound of Your Voice" (training I desperately need, as I speak WAY too fast), and psychology books like "What To Say When You Talk to Yourself."
The lower editor reviews here do poor service to this product, but I suspect it's because they already KNOW these core concepts.
If you DON'T have these concepts ingrained, in my experience the other techniques will be of limited value, or take much longer to implement.
It's one thing to give a man fishing tips but leave him in a shallow pond; it's quite another to lead a man to an ocean of abundance and then say: "Now fish."

The one great thing that makes David DeAngelo stand out is his ability to get other masters to speak at his seminars.
David DeAngelo might have a few insights of his own (which he observed in naturals), but he mostly seems to just read from other books.
Seriously...he stands on the stage and reads. And it sounds like someone reading.
He also has a habit of repeating every title and every heading, for example...
Sexual...Confidence. Sexual Confidence.
blah blah blah
Transition Vulnerability.... Transition...vulnerability.
blah blah blah
So, again, the value in the program is mainly from the inspiring and entertaining speakers who are not David DeAngelo. No offense to David, but he's not a naturally gifted speaker. His stance seems stiff and mechanical, his jokes are sometimes a bit funny, but memorized, and he reads the speech. Even when he's not reading his speech, it seems stilted.
He probably realizes this about himself, which is why he culls the guest speakers.
I think David DeAngelo was trying to synthesize all the little insights into an organic whole. I don't think he succeeded.
Oh, and here's something I really hate about this program.
The one reason you would want to invest in this is to transform yourself.
Aside from the book recommendations which are great books, (but you don't spend this much money to get someone's book recommendations), and aside from the guest speakers, and aside from DeAngelo just reading a bunch of text at you, there are EXERCISES.
David DeAngelo in this program had some "profoundly" life-altering exercises (as he put it). And I believe him. The problem is, he just rushed through all these exercises, basically reading right through them, pausing briefly (like, 1 or 2 seconds) for punctuation. I mean, seriously, here's David DeAngelo racing over the words, "inhale through your nose exhale through your mouth inhale through your nose exhale through your mouth, and imagine blowing tension out...powerful visual (by the way, I remember Ross Jeffries teaching this like ten years ago, and in the video of Jeffries' seminar you could see young David DeAngelo, lol). Exhale any ill feelings toward yourself or others. In your imagination, open up your heart and allow that to envelope everything and everyone around you." Then he finally pauses for 3 seconds. So basically, he didn't lead the exercise, he just read the exercise quickly, then suggested that if we do the exercise it will improve our life. By the way, I've read variations of that exercise from numerous, non PUA sources.
So I'm starting to think that I could charge a thousand dollars for a seminar.
There's gotta be enough suckers to invest in it.
Then, I'll just tell them about my favorite books, which ones changed my life, and I'll actually lead them through some exercises from Anthony de Mello's books.
So, overall, this isn't bad.
Even though I said all the above, the material is good (though second-hand knowledge).
There's a lot to digest, a lot of contradictory advice, and there's not much of a theme tying everything together (which is I guess to be expected from a program called "Mastery").

Well, in my opinion, it is one of the very best products out there.
It is very thorough and complete. There is so much killer content on this with very little filler.
DeAngelos charisma and wit just shimmers through this product. I think DavidD is actually very intellectual and completely understands what he is talking about - unlike so many charlatans out there at the moment who are idiots masquerading as gurus.
Even though this was filmed in late 2004 it is actually timeless.
This product covers *everything* related to pick up and beyond: tactics,re-framing, push-pull, routines, Jungian psychology, Myers Briggs psychology, inner game and an excellent range of guest speakers like Mystery, Tyler Durden, David X, Swinggcat, Orion and Hypnotica.
You will get so much value from this and it can be quite humorous and entertaining in parts too! Clearly he put a lot of time and effort into creating and writing this.
It may be a pricey, sure, but as this Mastery programme will enrich the quality of your life so much, you can't afford to not buy it.

I have Mastery and am now watching it for the second time. It's a bit long but is great for the "inner game" stuff. But I wouldn't watch it if you haven't watched the advance series yet. It's pretty deep stuff especially the first few discs. Some of the guests like Marie - a great woman's perspective from a 9 herself,Mystery - shows a short version of the method,Tyler - well what can you say ...LOL Noone talks like Tyler. These are all classic performances.
I'm not sure it's worth the high price he asks for it but if you know someone that has it you would want to "borrow" it for sure.........

His Approaching DVD set has Mystery, Tyler Durden, Will, Craig and a couple other guys. It's a decent DVD set but it's 5 years old. It's not nearly as up to date as what you get with revelation currently and in my opinion not nearly as good. Again, the speakers don't display any kind of system or method (mystery discusses the M3 model but you don't need to buy the program for that as you can get it anywhere online for free), they basically give tips on things you can do or say to women. They're not bad tips but picture a new PUA student walking straight into a set, facing the group, speaking quickly, leaning in and reciting the tip they learned from the DVD. In the end they're going to get blown out because they're not doing the other important things properly. Granted DYD does have a body language program but why the heck buy 5 different DVD programs to get the info (and arguably worse, less organized info) than what you get with a single revelation book or DVD package. Bottom line: DYD will give you tips (ie don't face the group with your body), revelation will teach you WHY the tip works (ie value differential). I'd rather learn WHY something works then blindly memorizing a list of tips to pickup women. Just my honest opinion after seeing what both products have to offer.

I have most of DD's programs. Mastery one is very very good, and very extensive. Deep Inner game is a must-see also. He makes you wanna go out and approach and date. Body language is not that good, but from the interviews you can learn a lot of stuff from different guys and their games.
I think he is oriented to who you are, not what you do, because he teachs you to be A MAN, and certain things that just pull women from your personality and treats. C&F also goes alllll the wayyyy....
Carpe Diem, Matthius.
ps: 77 Laws of Attraction and dating is other that is worth the money..

But on disc 4 of the Approaching women in bars and clubs there is a Tyler section on social construct that blew my mind So I'd also look that up.

I bought David D's mastery series as well - and I think it's an excellent tool for your inner game. It's definitely not for newb's who are just getting to the rAFC status - stick with David D's "Double Your Dating" book first.
I love his thoughts on centering yourself and becoming a more powerful individual. I love his thoughts on "Status" as well, and how Rick H. complimented that with "If you're not qualifying her, she's qualifying you" - it's an absolute fundamental aspect of inner game during the approach.
I think the most powerful guest speakers on that were definitely Mystery, David X, and Rick H. I love the playful but confident "I-don't-give-a-****-what-you-think" attitude of David X. Rick H's stuff is a little more advance (esp the threesome stuff), but it's great to look at his carefree attitude.
It's expensive, but if you can get a good deal for it on ebay, its a HUGE piece of the puzzle. Covers alot of inner game stuff that the MM might not address.
