Magic Bullets was pretty good. I like the layout, there are a few typos in it, but that's okay. It's good, I like the way it was broken down. Very good for starters. As it breaks down the model and then goes into each part of the model. The build up, is good. Easy to learn from quickly, go out the same night and be ready. Good. Good. Good. Good. ("Insert Good Here.")

Its a step up but it is still quite necessary to own the humble $13 mm manual first. For those of you on a budget start here. For those like me who spend $500 clams a weekend sarging, the price isn't nothing and is well worth it considering the time and money that you would otherwise waste. However I didn't think that mb added enough original material, just explained the old stuff better. I still recommend it though.

The Good
Savoy really did a good job of cramming pretty much everything you could ever want to know about MM into a book. A really fantastic addition that helped me out a lot was the addition of a "transitional" step between opening and attracting.
The Bad
I think that there's so much information in the book that sitting down and reading through it at once will drive you insane. The biggest criticism I can think of is that sometimes stuff probably gets over-explained, which left me a bit confused at times. Also, some sections feel more glossed over than the others.
Magic Bullets is definitely a good read.
I would describe Magic Bullets as more of an "encyclopedia of pickup" than a book that will give you a solid understanding of game structure the way the VAH does--i.e. something to go back to over and over rather than something you read straight through.
